INMATE INFORMATION
BONDING PROCESS
Once bond is set by the court it can be posted at any time of the day or night at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Corrections Department. Bond can be posted with cash, certified check, or credit/debit card. No personal checks are accepted. If posting bond with cash the person posting the cash bond must take the exact amount to the jail. The corrections department does not keep cash on hand and is unable to make change. If you are posting a bond with a certified check, the check must be made payable to the LAWRENCE COUNTY CIRCUIT CLERK.
Persons may also post bond for a detainee with any major credit or debit card. There is an additional handling fee for this service. The persons posting bond by credit or debit card do not need to be present at the jail to post the bond for a detainee. For more information on posting bond remotely see information below.
Persons posting bond for a detainee will be given a receipt. Detainees being released from jail will be given a date for their next appearance in court if applicable.

COURT APPEARANCES Detainees in custody will be taken to court only when the court advises the Correctional Staff to do so, this may or may not be at the time the court has previously scheduled. The Correctional Staff does not schedule court appearances. Detainees taken to the courthouse will be escorted by a Correctional Officer. The Detainee will not be allowed physical contact with family or friends.
DETAINEE / FAMILY VISITS
All Detainee/Arrestees can be eligible for visitations from family and friends after inmate has been in custody 72 hours. The rules are listed below and keep in mind that a visitation is a privilege not a right and any and all visitations can be revoked following a breach of any rule or regulation(s).
1. Visits are limited to two (2) twenty (20) minute visits per week and may be scheduled consecutively if requested and time allows.
2. Only three (3) Adults are allowed in each visit
3. Anyone under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied by an Adult
4. All visits must be arranged the day prior NO EXCEPTIONS!
5. Fighting or a disturbance of any kind will not be tolerated. This will result in the immediate termination to your visit.
VISITATION SCHEDULE
Visits are Saturday and Sunday from
9 am to 10:30 am, 1pm to 2:30 pm, and 6 pm to 7:30 pm.

VISITOR INFORMATION
All visitors must be in proper attire while visiting any Detainee/Arrestee. NO REVEALING CLOTHING WILL BE ALLOWED. The Lawrence County Jail and the Correctional Officers reserve the right to decline admission to any visitor at any time that ‘ does not meet any of the Jail visitation criteria. All visitations are subject to monitoring and/or recording. Cell phones, jackets/coats, purses, and pictures are not permitted in the visitation area. All adult visitors must have a valid state issued ID or they will not be permitted to visit.
EXTENDED or SPECIAL VISITS
The jail administrator must approve all requests for extended or special visits. These may be granted for crucial circumstances or if the jail administrator believes the extended visit is warranted.
CONTACT VISITS ARE NOT PERMITTED FOR ANY REASON, ALL REQUESTS FOR THEM WILL BE DENIED.
TELEPHONE USAGE
Detainee/Arrestees will be allowed to use the phone in their cells from 6 am to l0 pm daily. The Lawrence County Jail will provide you with a card that is valid for a 2 minute phone call after you have been booked in. All calls must be made from your cell with calling cards. Additional cards are available for purchase from commissary. Cards are 20 Minutes for $10 and 40 minutes for $20. Any calls made after the Detainee/Arrestee has been incarcerated MUST be paid for by the Detainee/Arrestee or the party you are attempting to contact.
Messages will not be given to detainees from any person for any reason.
DETAINEE/ARRESTEE MAIL
All regular mail going to or coming from a Detainee of the Lawrence County jail will be inspected for contraband and / or inappropriate content. All mail that is found to contain contraband, inappropriate content, or any item not allowed will be returned to the sender. All mail received must be clear of drawings, unnecessary writing, lipstick, perfumes, only envelopes with address, return address, and stamp will be accepted. No mail will be edited or destroyed. Writing materials and stamps may be purchased by the Detainee from the Jail’s commissary. Detainees may not receive packages, stamps, or photographs by mail. To write a Detainee place the Detainee’s name on the envelope and mail it to: 1306 Lexington Ave, Lawrenceville IL 62439.
Detainee/Arrestees shall not correspond with another Detainee/Arrestee in another correctional facility without prior approval from both facility administrators. Detainee/Arrestees also shall not correspond with victims of the alleged crime they are being incarcerated or have another Detainee/Arrestee complete said task.
